I was watching a dog movie the other day , one of those emotional ones where you kind of know it’s going to be sad, but you watch it anyway. I was feeling a little emotional, just quietly tearing up on my couch.
Then, out of nowhere, the ground started shaking.
It wasn’t a huge earthquake, but enough to make me freeze for a second and feel that weird mix of confusion and concern. Everything went still afterward, but that moment stuck with me. It was just so quick , one second everything felt normal, the next it didn’t.
And that’s when it really hit me: things can change fast. Like, really fast. Whether it’s the ground under your feet or the mood you’re in, nothing stays the same forever and sometimes it shifts when you least expect it.
It reminded me not to take the calm moments for granted. To check in with people. To be more present. Because life doesn’t always give you a warning.
It wasn’t a huge, life-altering moment. But it was enough to make me pause and think. And sometimes, that’s all it takes.
